Treatment
The Chichester CBT Clinic is an independent provider of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
Referrals are accepted from GP's, Occupational Health Practitioners, Human Resources Departments and solicitors as well as self referrals.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (also known as CBT), is used to treat conditions such as depression, anxiety disorders, phobias, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, pain management and many other disorders.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is an evidenced based form of treatment and is recommended in the NHS NICE Guidelines.
| Simply, CBT works by identifying the negative thinking patterns (core schemas and automatic assumptions) that individuals hold that are at the root of their current problems. Once these are located, more appropriate thinking patterns are learnt through a process known as Cognitive Restructuring. |

Our psychologists are all Chartered Psychologists who hold current practising certificates from the British Psychological Society. They currently work or have worked in the NHS as CBT specialists. All attend continuous professional development and have received further training at the Beck Institute in Philadelphia USA. This is your reassurance that you are receiving the correct therapy for your condition and that your psychologist is properly trained and qualified in CBT.
